ROCK & REBUILD THE HARBOR
GRANT DISTRIBUTION
All proceeds raised from Rock & Rebuild the Harbor will be distributed via a grant process to working waterfront businesses that directly support fishing, play a critical role in the community, and were demonstrably impacted by the storms. Fund uses include such critical activities as infrastructure repair, equipment replacement, and operational support.
ABOUT THE STORM DAMAGE
In January 2024, two monstrous and record-breaking winter storms hit Maine. The damage to the Pemaquid Peninsula was particularly extensive, as the storm surge pummeled the working waterfront areas that are mainstays of the local economy. Mainers are resourceful and cleared up much of the storm damage within days of the impact. While the debris has been removed, reality has set in. The rebuilding has been and will continue to be an extensive and expensive process.
